Football season has gotten into full swing, and that has caused us to loose track of some of the other athletic events going on at Oregon State.
Baseball:
On Saturday the defending National Champion Beavers hosted a exhibition scrimmage in Bend at Vince Genna Stadium. The weather was perfect, and the event drew 1,140 fans.
"This is fantastic," Casey told reporters. "The weather, the ballpark, the people who've come
out to see us play. ... This whole thing is awesome."
The Orange team beat the Black team 11-0 in the eight inning scrimmage.
Volleyball:
The Lady Beavers have had a hard time getting things rolling this season.
Their most rescent game was against Arizona State, where the Beavers rallied late in the third game to force a fourth game, but came up short.
With that loss, the Beavers fall to 3-13 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Men's Golf:
So far this season the Men's Golf team has played in four tournaments, and finished tied for 5th, 8th, 4th, and 3rd.
The Beavers are led by senior Mitch Gillis, who won the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor earlier this year.
Men's Soccer:
The Men's Soccer Team is off to a 5-9-1 overall record , but 0-7 in conference play. The Beavers play UCLA this Friday in Corvallis, before finishing out the season with San Diego State, Cal State Northridge, and Washington.
Women's Golf:
In their three tournaments so far, the women's golf team has finished 4th, 11th, and 15th. They have two tournaments left before taking the winter off and resuming their schedule in the spring.
Women's Soccer:
Women's Soccer is currently at 8-5-2 overall and 1-3 in the conference. They face the Ducks next in Eugene.
That's your campus report for today. Feel free to leave comments below.
