Pac-10 Week in Review

The Weekly win/loss records are posted for each team. I'll get the Pac-10 standings up in the coming days, and we'll take a look at overall and conference records.

Corn Nation has the Big 12 Week in Review

Roll Bama Roll has the SEC Week in Review

and here is the Pac-10 Week in Review:

Pac-10 Rankings this Week:

USA Today/ ESPN Coaches' Poll: Oregon State, 9th; Arizona State, 10th; Arizona, 15th
Baseball America Top 25: Oregon State, 8th; Arizona State, 11th; Arizona, 15th; UCLA, 22th
Collegiate Baseball Top 25:  Oregon State, 8th; Arizona State, 9th; UCLA, 11th; Arizona, 18th

Arizona Wildcats

1-2

Friday: UCLA 9, Arizona 3

Saturday: UCLA 11, Arizona 4

Sunday: Arizona 5, UCLA 3

Arizona continues to struggle, as they lost their second straight series, this week to UCLA. Although Arizona dropped, UCLA continues to rise, and that could be bad news for the Beavers.

Arizona State Sun Devils

1-2

Friday: Cal 4, Arizona State 2

Saturday: Arizona State 15, Cal 2

Sunday: Cal 13, Arizona State 9

Arizona State also got roughed up a little bit by Cal. Arizona State is still near the top of the Pac-10, but you know they wanted to do better against Cal.

Cal Golden Bears

2-1

Friday: Cal 4, Arizona State 2

Saturday: Arizona State 15, Cal 2

Sunday: Cal 13, Arizona State 9

Cal got some great pitching this weekend, and it showed as they beat Arizona two out of three. They play UCLA this week, which has the potential to be a great series.

Oregon State Beavers

2-1

Friday: Oregon State 13, Stanford 7

Sunday: Stanford 9, Oregon State 7 (11)

Sunday: Oregon State 8, Stanford 6

We know the Beavers wanted the sweep of the Cardinal, but it didn't happen thanks to a Michael Taylor walk off homer in the eleventh inning of game two. That loss hurts, as the Beavers are now 6-6 in conference, instead of 7-5. They're in fourth place, four wins behind the third place team. They're really going to have to kick it into high gear this weekend against Washington if they want a chance. The good news is that no team in the Pac-10 went 3-0 this week, so the Beavers didn't really lose ground. They just wish they could have gained more.

Stanford Cardinal

1-2

Friday: Oregon State 13, Stanford 7

Sunday: Stanford 9, Oregon State 7 (11)

Sunday: Oregon State 8, Stanford 6

Stanford snuck away with a win Saturday night, but lost the two games on Friday and Saturday, and ended up losing another series. They've got Washington State this week.

UCLA Bruins

2-1

Friday: UCLA 9, Arizona 3

Saturday: UCLA 11, Arizona 4

Sunday: Arizona 5, UCLA 3

UCLA won the series against Arizona, and remains the dominant team in the Pac-10. They'll play a non-conference game tonight, then play Cal this weekend.

USC Trojans

2-1

Friday: Washington State 5, Stanford 4

Saturday: USC 9, Stanford 5

Sunday: USC 10, Washington State 8

USC lost their Friday game before turning around and winning back to back games over the Huskies. They head to the desert this weekend to play the Wildcats.

Washington Huskies

1-2

Friday: Utah Valley State 8, Washington 5

Saturday: Utah Valley State 17, Washington 9

Sunday: Washington 20, Utah Valley State 7

In one of the most bizzare day-to-day turnarounds I've ever seen, Washington beat Utah Valley State 20-7, after the Huskies lost 17-9 the day before. In any case, they play the Beavers this week.

Washington State Cougars

1-2

Friday: Washington State 5, USC 4

Saturday: USC 9, Stanford 5

Sunday: USC 10, Washington State 8

Washington State snuck away with a Friday win, before dropping the last two games. The Cougs remain a game out of last place in the Pac-10 conference.

Go Beavers!
