Beaver Gymnastics stomps No.12 Stanford

The No. 10 Oregon State gymnastics team lit up the Cardinal 196.800 to 194.525. The score of 196.800 is one of the highest in the nation so far this season. The win brings the Beavs record to 3-0 on the season and they handed Stanford their first loss of the season. This is also the third straight win for the Beavs over ranked teams (the previous wins came over Oklahoma and Arizona).

Joe Paterno Passes

Former Penn St. head football coach Joe Paterno, the winningest coach in Division I college football history, died today at age 85, from complications from lung cancer, and only weeks after seeing his career end in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Paterno won 409 games in 46 years as coach of the Penn St. Nittany Lions, including 2 national championships. 888 other coaching changes happened at major college football programs during his tenure.

His life and career has been unique, and had more far-reaching impacts than any other single coach or figure in college football. There will continue to be after affects for years to come. We will never see the like of "Joe Pa" again.
