Ducks are the college football version of Paris Hilton…they’re famous for no reason, they look pretty and they got a rich daddy.
5. Oregon State: Sure, the Beavs will probably make me look dumb — they almost always do. And they’re certainly in the group of teams that could finish second/third because of the veteran QBs, the Rodgers brothers, plus Mike (Riley) and Mark (Banker). But goodness, they lost a lot of frontline players in Stroughter, Levitre, Butler, Norris and the CBs.
When asked about his brother-in-law, President Barack Obama, picking North Carolina to win the NCAA Tournament, Robinson quipped, "Oh, he picked Oregon State to win the CBI. They just didn't film that."
I really like the coaching staff and Coach Robinson.. It's a great place to live there, and I fit into their style of play. I'm a big guy who can shoot from outside and play inside. Plus, my passing game is something they can take advantage of.
--Angus Brandt, the 20th ranked center and 146th ranked player in the country, on committing to Oregon State this morning.
"I thought for sure it was going to be an offensive foul" on Wise, Budinger said. "But I'm happy there was a no call. That was pretty much like the game-winner."
Hmm... at least the kid is smarter than he looks
All I heard since April when I got here was, coach you don't have to win any games just win the Civil War. I was feeling the pressure this week. I'm just so happy. We have a locker room of guys who have never won a Civil War so this was a first for them and a first for me. The best number on the stat sheet is the attendance, 10,129. We had a bunch of folks here who have never been here and have now seen us live... I have to tell you, that student section looked pretty good standing over there from my vantage point. People are going to find out that it is tough to play here.
--Coach Craig Robinson, on the Civil War atmosphere after the game
As the Oregon State coaching staff hits the final stretch until Signing Day, they received good news that 6-foot, 170 athlete Rashaad Reynolds from San Fernando (Calif.) verbally committed to play for Oregon State.
San Fernando coach Tim Hernandez confirmed that Reynolds committed and said that the Beavers were getting a good player.
"Yes, he committed yesterday," said Hernandez. "He is a great kid and a great player. He will perform well for the Beavers both on the field and in the classroom."
"I committed to Oregon State earlier today," said Cunningham. "It is a great fit for me and I'm excited to play for Coach Robinson who is both a great mentor and coach."
--Jared Cunningham, 4-star PG from San Leandro, CA
#13 rated Point Guard and #70 overall player in the class of 09
For those not keeping track, this is now three big commitments:
4-star SG Roberto Nelson
4-star PG Jared Cunningham
3-star PF/C Joe Burton
It appears we are Rallying the Legend! GO BEAVS!
