The college football season is just around the corner and Building the Dam’s countdown continues with No. 11.
#11: Timmy Hernandez - Wide Receiver
Timmy Hernandez has locked down a starting spot for this upcoming season for quite sometime now. He is last year’s leader (among WRs) in both yardage (357) and touchdowns (3). Hernandez should have a much bigger role this season with Jordan Villamin (AAF) and Seth Collins (Texas Tech) moving on.
Hernandez, Isaiah Hodgins and Noah Togiai will all be reliable pass-catchers and each are looking to have breakout seasons. In Oregon State’s live scrimmage Hernandez caught a long pass from Jake Luton to open up the day.
Hernandez is a bit a of a fan favorite around here at Building the Dam, partly because it’s so hard not yell “TIMMAY!” every time he makes a play. Aside from that, Hernandez has developed chemistry with Luton who is likely to be the opening day starter. He doesn’t utilize all-world speed to get separation but he’s demonstrated solid route running ability and has soft hands. I wouldn’t be surprised if Timmy Hernandez reaches the 1,000 yard mark plateau and paces all Oregon State wide receivers.
