Pacific (1-2) vs. #2 Oregon St. (3-0) / Tempe Diablo Stadium / Husker Classic in Tempe, AZ / 11 AM MST (10 AM PST) / No TV / KEJO 1240 AM / KPOJ 620 AM
Oregon St. plays their second of two games against Pacific of the West Coast Conference this morning to wind up the weekend in Tempe for the Husker Classic for both teams. It's President's Day Holiday for a few, but most folks will be working or in school, so the audience is bound to be on the small side today.
The Beavers jumped out to a 14-2 lead yesterday, before the Tigers added 4 runs in the 9th inning when both teams were heavily into their benches, making the final 14-6. Michael Conforto and Jeff Hendrix led the Beavers, with 4 hits, 4 walks, 7 RBIs, and 5 runs scored between them. Andy Peterson also scored 3 times, and Dylan Davis drove in 3 runs. The Beavers have now beat the Tigers 7 times in a row.
Oregon St.'s starter for this morning will be a game time decision, but head coach Pat Casey had planned to start freshman RHP Jake Thompson, and the easy wins the last 2 days hasn't disrupted the bullpen to the point of forcing a change in plans.
Pacific will counter with counter with another freshman, RHP Will Lydon.
Gabe Clark gets the start at first today, and Kavin Keyes has the day off. Here's today's Oregon St. lineup:
CF - Jeff Hendirx
2B - Andy Peterson
LF - Michael Conforto
RF - Dylan Davis
DH - Michael Howard
1B - Gabe Clark
3B - Caleb Hamilton
C - Logan Ice
SS - Trever Morrison
P - Jake Thompson
