After defeating Portland in a mid-week home game, and then taking 2 of 3 games from UCLA on the road last weekend, Oregon St. stayed at #6 in this week's Baseball America Top 25 poll. The Bruins, who also lost their mid-week game, to Fullerton St., dropped from #10 to #17 as a result.
The Titans also swept UC-Davis, and remained at #4 in the poll, the highest ranked team from the west.
The top 6 all stayed the same, with North Carolina still on top.
Oregon St. still has the highest RPI in the country, .0097 above Vanderbilt, who remains ranked #2.
The Bruins now trail both Arizona St. and Oregon.
The Sun Devils had a great week, taking 2 from Wichita St., and then the first 2 of 3 from the Pac-12 leading Ducks. As a result, they jumped up from #24 to #15, 1 spot ahead of Oregon, who was dropped from #11 as a result of losing the series.
Oregon St. hosts Oregon Tuesday at 4:05 PM in the first of 2 non-conference games this season behind the current Pac-12 front-runners (the Beavers trail the Ducks by 1/2 game in the conference standings), in a game that will be carried on the Pac-12 channel.
No other western teams are ranked this week, as both Cal-Poly and San Diego dropped out. The Mustangs lost 2 of 3 at UC-Santa Barbara, and the Toreros dropped 2 of 3 at Loyola-Marymount, just a week after winning 2 of 3 against visiting Oregon St.
The Beavers are also ranked #6 by Collegiate Baseball, who moved LSU to #1 ahead of North Carolina on their list, in the Perfect Game top 25, and in the USA Today
Coaches' Assistant Sports Information Directors poll (which dropped Oregon St. down from #3, probably because they finally figured out San Diego won that series a week ago). The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Assn. has Oregon St. at #7.
Oregon St. also announced that their game at Portland originally scheduled for March 5 that was rained out will be made up on Wednesday, April 17, at 3 PM. It will begin a 5 game road trip to the north, as the Beavers visit Washington for their Pac-12 series that weekend, and then a Monday game at Seattle University.
