Should Mike Riley be the coach of this program anymore, especially after all the bad coaching decisions that have occurred, such as what occurred in the Alamo Bowl? Does he even have the record to warrant having a "lifetime" contract? Shouldn't he adapt to the 21st century, in terms of how to run an offense and what schemes to use? I say this because, while I am thankful for what he has done for the program, I think OSU needs to adapt to modern football and move to the next level. They've lost to the Ducks 5 years in a row now(and judging by the current trend, it will probably be 6 in a row after next season), and I don't think Riley and his current staff have the ability to get the team to the Rose Bowl, especially after 2 failed attempts in a row in the last 5 years. I'm sorry, but DeCarolis giving Riley that contract after the 2 failed Rose Bowl berth attempts has put an effective death sentence on the football program. Riley is a nice guy, but that can only go so far. You can also be a nice guy and win(ex: Chris Petersen). Either Riley changes the way he does things, or DeCarolis makes a serious change himself. Otherwise, the program will only get worse and lose support over the next several years. Pac-12 money cannot fix the problem. In the end, winning fixes everything.
