Oregon St. pitcher Clay Bauer, 21, will be arraigned today on assault, criminal mischief and burglary charges resulting from an incident early Saturday (as in very late Friday night) morning.
The incident occurred at the University Market at 1149 NW Van Buren Ave in Corvallis. The Corvallis police report says Bauer assaulted an employee and broke two windows.
Bauer, apparently intoxicated, was subsequently arrested a couple blocks away, and identified by a store employee.
After receiving treatment for cuts on his hand, Bauer was booked, with bail set at $25,000.
Bauer's next court date was set for Thursday, Nov. 14, according to Benton County district attorney Chris Stringer.
Bauer was a junior last season, after transferring to Oregon St., and appeared in 1 game, getting a start at San Diego St., in which he lasted only 1 2/3 innings.
Oregon St. head baseball coach Pat Casey suspended Bauer indefinitely.
