Oregon St. Opens Spanish Trip With Win

The Oregon St. men's basketball program opened their 4 game swing through Spain today with a 76-59 win over St. Charles Basketball Club of Charenton/St. Maurice.

The Beavers started Ahmad Starks and Roberto Nelson in the back-court, with Angus Brandt, Devon Collier, and Joe Burton up front.

Oregon St. led 25-16 after the first quarter (international rules play quarters), with Nelson and Brandt co-leading the way, with 7 points each.

The Beavers extended their lead to 45-30 at halftime, with Nelson their leading scorer, with 11 points, and Brandt close behind, with 10.

The Spanish squad edged a little closer in the third period, but were only within 58-45 at the end of the quarter. Brandt already had a double-double by that time, with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Beavers went on to win by 17, with Brandt's 17 point, 15 rebound day leading Oregon St.

Oregon St. will next be in action on Friday, against Manresa of the Spanish Professional League.
