Oregon St. Football/Track Headed for Pac-12 Meet

The Oregon St. mens' track and field team of football players is headed back to Eugene this weekend, for the Pac-12 Conference meet at Hayward Field.

Red shirt freshman WR Obum Gwacham will be competing in the high jump at 4:30 PM Saturday, and 3 Beavers are entered in the preliminaries of the 100 meter dash. Junior WR Marcus Wheaton, freshman WR Brandin Cooks, and junior CB Keynan Parker will all be trying to place well enough in the heats that begin at 3:40 PM to qualify to come back Sunday for the finals.

And all 3 will join with red shirt freshman CB/KR Malcolm Marable in the 4x100 relay heats at 1:25 PM.

Oregon St. is also sending 11 members of the women's track team to the conference meet.

Laura Carlyle runs the 1,500 meters at 2 PM Saturday, and Taylor Hunt, Emily LaValley and Lacey London will be in the 800 at 4:25 PM. All will be attempting to qualify for Sunday's finals.

Taylor Nowlin and Whitney Pitman will run in the 3,000 steeplechase at 5 PM, and Erin Jones goes in the 10,000 meters at 7:05 PM. Both are single race finals.

Justine Bird and Kristin Oenning will be competing in the high jump at 1:40 PM on Sunday.

Kinsey Gomez, Sandra Martinez and Jones will all run in the 5,000 meters at 3:40 PM.
