Beat Stanford - Go to the Rose Bowl?

While all football games are important, this coming week's Beaver game at Stanford (Beavers vs Cardinal coverage) is likely for a bid to go to the Rose Bowl.

The Beavers and the Cardinal are now tied for second place in the Pac 12 with 5-1 conference records. UCLA is leading the Pac 12 South with only two losses, while the Ducks remain undefeated in conference play. If the Beavers can pull off a win at Stanford, then they will be 6-1 in conference play including victories over both Stanford and UCLA. This leaves them firmly in second place with home games against Cal and Oregon remaining.

Obviously, if the Beavers were to win out including the Pac 12 Championship game, they would go to the Rose Bowl. What would happen if the Beavers beat Cal and lost to the Ducks? If the Ducks win out, they are quite likely to go to the National Championship game and the second place team in the Pac 12 would go to the Rose Bowl.

If the Beavers beat Stanford and Cal, then they will end up with the second best record in the Pac 12. And they would go to the Rose Bowl. Toughest part of this scenario, by far, is winning at Stanford. Stanford is good and it is a road game. A great test for the Beavers.

Beat Stanford! Let's go to the Rose Bowl!
