The first round concludes with the two seed USC football game against the seven seed Washington basketball game. The voting should be tight in this one, as both were very exciting games.
In the USC football game, the Beavers upset the 20th ranked Trojans, 36-7. The Beavers dominated from start to finish in front of a Beaver Nation crowd that was begging for some good football after seeing back to back losses against UCLA and Washington State.
After scoring just three points in the first quarter, Oregon State added 17 in the second quarter to take a 20-0 lead at the half. The Beavers cruised from there, and Beaver Nation celebrated by rushing the field.
The Washington basketball game was one of the few great games the Beavers played in the 2010-2011 season. Washington came into Corvallis ranked 20th in the nation, but the Beavers battled the Huskies all night long. After going into the locker rooms tied at 32, it was like the Huskies fell asleep. Oregon State outscored Washington by twelve in the second half to pull the upset. Jared Cunningham also broke out of a mini-slump, scoring 19 point for the Beavers.
Voting will close on Monday morning at 9:50 AM. Here are the links to the game stories for both of the games:
Your vote can be based on either the game you would want to watch again, or the game that you think the Beavers played best in. Whatever you want.
