Ahmad Starks and Company will invade the Izod Center this November in hopes of capturing the Legends Classic Championship.
The Oregon State Men's Basketball team will play in the Legends Classic next season. The tournament consists of three rounds (Regional, Subregional, and Championship), and each of the 12 teams in the field are assured of 4 games.
The Beavers will first host two games at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis in the Regional round, and no matter what happens in those two, the Beavers will advance to the Championship round at the Izod Center in East Rutherford. While in New Jersey, the Beavers will play a 1st Round game followed by either a Championship or Consolation Game.
Besides the Beavers, only three other teams are currently in the field: Texas, Vanderbilt, and NC State. Each of those three teams will also host Regionals and advance to the Championship Round.
The Subregional Round will consist of the eight teams that are playing in the Regionals, but not the Championship Round. Those teams, along with Championship Round matchups and TV schedules, will be announced at a later date.
The dates for the tournament are:
Regional Round: November 13th-17th
Subregional Round: November 19th-22nd
Championship Round: November 19th and 21st
Here are the team's records from last year:
Oregon State, 11-20
NC State, 15-16
Overall, I love that the Beavers are playing in this tournament. It will give us some good competiton before we even reach Thanksgiving, and there is a good chance we can finish the tournament 3-1, as long as we don't have to face Seattle University or Texas Southern in the Regional round.
