Oregon St. wrestler Colby Covington lost in the 174 pound quarterfinals at the NCAA Wrestling Championships Friday in Philadelphia, PA, but bounced back with two wins in the Consolation bracket Friday night.
Those wins puts Covington one more win today away from the third place match, and earned him All-American honors.
Oregon St. sophomore Mike Mangrum had scored the Beavers' first win over a seeded wrestler in the tournament Friday morning, but lost in the 141 lb. class consolation matches Friday evening, and fell one round short of joining Covington as an All-American as a result.
The Beavers' other 5 wrestlers in the Consolation rounds were all eliminated during the Friday morning session.
