Boise State: We play these guys in less than three weeks. Like the Beavers, they have a big test in week one. If there are any weaknesses on this team that returns practically all of their starters from last year, this game could expose them.

If Boise St. loses,
they will be real mad still when we go in there. And the rest of the country won’t recognize any significance to it if the Beavers win in Boise.
Most of the country makes very little distinction between the good teams from the Pac-10, the Mt. West, and the WAC. Any loss by a western team to any team from back east is even more damaging than any win. I think it’s in all of our best interests for Boise St. to win.

if the beavs win, BSU is out of a BCS contention. Beavs will get a better ranking and if they live up to it, might get a better bowl, in case UO really runs away with the Roses

and spoiling BSU’s bowl chances should never be motivation for a team this early in the year with a lot to play for.
Unless UO runs the pac-10 table, nobody from the pac is getting an at-large bid. So quality wins doesn’t really help our bowl destination.
