The Dam News 7/23

August.

The worst month ever. Pretty much the only thing standing between me and football season right now.

Damn you, August.

Onto the links!

Yeah. Right. That's just freaking eerie. I'll admit, the Longbranch Inn's beaver looks like it's had way more to drink than ours.

Star-divide

  • I know everyone's thinking about football right now, but basketball is still in the back of my mind. Can't help it. Here's a quick write up on Ahmad Starks from some crappy sports blog site Bleacher Report. Everything I've read about Starks has been a testament to his ability to score at the rim, play aggressively and shoot. If you haven't watched video on Ahmad yet, check him out here:

If I missed it, put it int he comments. Have a great weekend and GO BEAVERS!

Not that I'm planning

on attending JUST ONE road game, but the Boise trip is very, and potentially very very, interesting.

That said, the trip to Washington may be the most important road trip of the year, as the outcome of that one will really matter more.

Living in Portland, I think the UW trip is the most realistic for me. I’ll probably only make on roadie though… so UW or UCLA are the most probably, while TCU remains the one that I wish I was going to.

Were planning on going to Boise and Seattle

And if a money tree sprouts in our backyard, then Stanford.

BSU and UW

I’m with Connor. BSU and UW are my away games this year. I wish a trip to Cowboy Stadium wasn’t so expensive…

Heading to UW game

As a marching band, unless something happens to the budget, and gets axed at last min, (which I hope it doesn’t happen) By the way, marching band, 260, capacity limit reached. Any more, and we’re going to start a huge completion with the Marching Chiefs of Florida State.

Huck the F$%&@#! Fuskies, and I also Hate Your Ducks as well. (unless if it's been roasted, or served with Lettuce). Everyone else, well, I'll think about it. (unless of course, you are University of Spoiled Children)

What exactly do you mean by “…a huge completion with the Marching Chiefs of Florida State”?

You’re in the band? Nice. Start packing a digital camera and making some posts about your experiences—that’d be fun to read about.

No Problem

Got my iPhone 4 ready to go for filming everything in HD.

Also, when I mean by the Marching Chief, they have 470 members, and counting, making it the largest college band in the world.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marching_Chiefs

Our band can go to 500 if we want, but that’s just overkill.

About the highlight video

Was anyone else thrown off by the choice of smooth jazz for a highlight video? It just seemed a little odd to me.

Strewth, but fret not, BB12:

Like you, would-be defenders are also thrown
off by Mr. Starks’ smooth, jazz-like style of play.

James freakin' Rodgers. Beast.

Will be attending UA game...

but if I still lived in the NW I would be going to Boise, Seattle, and Palo Alto.

I’m still trying to make it to Dallas.
