Championship Week Preview: Day 2

Day 2 of Championship Week is today, and with that begins the HUGE Big East Tournament. And I do mean huge. It's got the same number of teams as the CBI.

You guys are welcome to make your picks in the Comments Section if you like.

Picks for Day 2 (Record 3-1)

Big East Tournament 1st Round: DePaul vs South Florida, 9:00 AM Pacific, ESPN2

The Big East Tournament Opener matches 9th Seeded South Florida against 16th DePaul. The Bulls are flying high on a three game winning streak, and they defeated DePaul 7 Days ago. Prediction: South Florida Bulls

Big East Tournament 1st Round: St. John's vs Connecticut, 11:00 AM Pacific, ESPN2

Connecticut still believes they have a shot at an At-Large Bid to the NCAA Tournament, so I'll expect them to come out firing against a struggling St. John's team. Prediction: Connecticut Huskies

Big East Tournament 1st Round: Providence vs Seton Hall, 4:00 PM, Pacific, ESPNU

The Friars never play well in the Big East Tournament. Add that to the fact that Seton Hall will be playing for an NIT Bid, I expect the Pirates to roll in this one. Prediction: Seton Hall Pirates

Sun Belt Tournament Championship Game: Troy vs North Texas, 4:00 PM Pacific, ESPN2

In what might be the most under-rated game of the week, #1 Troy takes on #2 North Texas in the Sun Belt Final. The Mean Green have already beaten Troy once this season, and I expect them to do it again tonight. Prediction: North Texas Mean Green

Big East Tournament 1st Round: Rutgers vs Cincinnati, 6:00 PM Pacific, ESPNU

In what should be the best game of the day, the 11th Seeded Bearcats take on 14th Seeded Rutgers. I wouldn't be surprised if Rutgers pulled the upset, but the Bearcats depth should propel them to the next round. Prediction: Cincinnati Bearcats

Horizon Tournament Championship Game: Wright State vs Butler, 6:00 PM Pacific, ESPN

No question here, the Bulldogs March Madness experience gives them the win. Prediction: Butler Bulldogs

Summit Tournament Championship Game: IUPUI vs Oakland, 6:00 PM Pacific, ESPN2

Not much to say about this game, but I think Oakland's experience will ge them the win against IUPUI. Prediction: Oakland Golden Grizzlies
