Baseball Open Thread: OSU vs Cal Poly
The Oregon State Beavers look to continue their winning ways today against Cal Poly in Surprise. The Beavers have a 2-1 record so far in the Coca-Cola Classic, after defeating UC Riverside, losing to Arizona State, and beating Utah Valley. You can listen to the game in the Portland Area on KPAM 860.
The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown out at 8:00 AM Pacific. I should be in the thread off and on.
Cal Poly is 4-6 on the season.
GO BEAVERS!

Dang
Had some stuff to do this morning and was just coming online to check it all out!
Kind-of a let down, for it would have been nice to go 3 and 1 this weekend. Good overall showing though, ASU game was close and they are a very good team and the two other games were very in control win for the Beavs.

Won the weekend again, though.
It would be great to win them all, and especially to have held the lead against ASU.
But baseball is a different world. Ask any baseball lifer and they will all say the same thing, take a series win every time, and your year will be just fine.
The encouraging thing is this team is not showing any signs of an off day turning into a slump.

Go Beavs!
Yep
Would have been nice to get the ASU Game, but as long as we keep winning Series then we should be fine. We’ve one all three of them so far, let’s keep that up in the OSU Spring Tournament next weekend!
I Hate Your Ducks
And I know I keep beating this drum
But it is also about gaining momentum and establishing identity with this pretty much untested, and in many cases very young, team as we get to conference play (and of course into the post-season).
So sometimes losses are not all that bad and excellent learning experiences. That is what is nice about baseball there is this bit of flexibility to the wins and losses.
