Thanksgiving Day Open Thread

Stay connected for news and updates

In between being thankful and eating today, there are actually some pretty good games on. This will be the place to talk about all of them, from NFL and College Football to College Hoops. Below is a preview of all of them. Happy Thanksgiving!

9:00 AM Pacific, NCAAB, Boston College vs Texas A&M, ESPN2

This game will start the Old Spice Classic, which has quickly became one of the best Pre-Season Tournaments in all of College Basketball. The Aggies are also looking to keep their undefeated record alive.

9:30 AM Pacific, NFL, New England @ Detroit, CBS

I'm not much of an NFL guy, but you always have to tune in on Thanksgiving Day. Besides, Tom Brady vs Jahvid Best will be one of the best matchups you'll see all year.

11:00 AM Pacific, NCAAB, Wisconsin vs Manhattan, ESPN2

2nd game of the Old Spice Classic. The Badgers are ranked 24th in the country but are looking to bounce back from a three point loss at UNLV.

11:00 AM Pacific, NCAAB, Virginia Tech vs CS Northridge, ESPNU

1st game of the 76 Classic in Anaheim, which has also became a great Thanksgiving Weekend tournament. The Hokies come into this one with a 2-1 record after losing to 3rd Ranked Kansas State.

1:00 PM Pacific, NCAAF, Tuskegee @ Alabama State, ESPNU

I've got nothing for this one. You might want to use this time to talk with the family.

1:15 PM Pacific, NFL, New Orleans @ Dallas, FOX

The Cowboys have been awful this season, but you have to think that they will step up their play after the firing of wade Phillips. Plus, Drew Brees is one of the best Quarterback's in the NFL, so it will be hard not to watch this one.

1:30 PM Pacific, NCAAB, DePaul vs Oklahoma State, ESPN2

Another 76 Classic game with a lot on the line. Not only will the Cowboys try to improve to 4-0, but the winner will most likely take on Virginia Tech in the semi-finals.

Rest of the games after the break

4:00 PM Pacific, NCAAB, Notre Dame vs Georgia, ESPN2

This one is in a tough TV spot, as most families will be eating around this time. But you will have to tune in for at least a few minutes as both teams are undefeated and will be on the brink of the NCAA's come March.

5:00 PM Pacific, NCAAF, Texas A&M @ Texas, ESPN

Beaver Nation will have a huge rooting interest in this one, as the 5-6 Longhorns become bowl-eligible with a win. But if the Aggies prevail, there will be another spot open for the Beavers to receive a bowl game waiver from the NCAA.

5:20 PM Pacific, NFL, Cincinnati @ New York Jets, NFL Network

All kinds of intrigue in this one. The biggest story line for Pac-10 fans is that former USC Quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Carson Palmer will be facing each other. And of course, former Oregon State star Chad Ochocinco will be there.

6:00 PM Pacific, NCAAB, Murray State vs Stanford, ESPNU

The Racers went to the Big Dance last season, and the Cardinal are 3-0 on this young season. Something will have to give, and besides, you gotta watch the Pac-10.

6:00 PM Pacific, NCAAB, Temple vs California, ESPN2

The final first round game of the Old Spice Classic, and it should be a great one. Both teams are undefeated, and the Owls come into this game ranked 20th.

8:30 PM Pacific, NCAAB, Tulsa vs UNLV, ESPN2

This will be the final first round game out in Anaheim, and the Runnin Rebels come into the game with a 3-0 record.

So there you have it. Enjoy the food and the family, and if you feel like talking some sports keep it right here.

Go Beavers!
