The Beavers open up the 2010-2011 Regular Season this afternoon against UT-Arlington. The Beavers are coming off a 71-43 victory over Western Oregon in an Exhibition Game last Tuesday.

The Beavers raced out to an 18-7 lead against WOU and never looked back. Lathen Wallace led the Beavers with 13 points in the victory.

Omari Johnson and Joe Burton got the start down low on Tuesday, but I would expect that Angus Brandt would take Omari's spot for today's game. Expect Cunningham, Haynes, and Wallace to get the start in the backcourt as they did against WOU.

"This game doesn't mean anything, but it means something if you lose it," Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson said after the win. "It's good to win this game. We had no idea what they were going to do because we hadn't seen any tape of them this year and they played us completely differently last year. It was interesting to go against a 1-3-1.

UT-Arlington, a Division I member of the Southland Conference, finished last season with a record of 16-14.

UT-Arlington opened its season on Friday with a 88-45 victory over Texas Lutheran. Brandon Edwards led four Mavericks players in double figures with 20 points as LaMarcus Reed had 15 points in the win.
