More Assistant Coach Movement in the Pac-10

The Arizona Wildcats and coach Mike Stoops have lost their offensive coordinator, Sonny Dykes, who is headed for Ruston, Louisiana, to take over as head coach of Louisiana Tech of the WAC Conference.

The Bulldogs lost coach Derek Dooley to Tennessee, to take over for Lane Kiffin, who of course left the Volunteers to take the reigns at USC.

Speaking of Kiffin and USC, another Tennessee assistant is joining the Trojan staff.

James Cregg, who was the offensive line coach for Kiffin at Tennessee, is the latest of several members of Kiffin staff to come west with him. Kiffin hasn't named the role Cregg will fill, leaving the future of Pat Ruel, offensive line coach for the last five years for the Trojans, dating back to when Kiffin was still at USC as an assistant, who is still on the USC payroll, in question. What his assignment would be, and what other team he might wind up with is just another domino waiting to fall.

In another PAC-10 football matter not related to coaching vacancies, the Washington Huskies have announced that the Portland St. Vikings will be visiting in the 2012 season.
