Non-Kiffin Link Feast!
So here's the best of what the internets has to offer as far as Oregon State sports go. As the title states, I've avoided the K-word with a vengeance.
First and foremost, I know you all have heard about the major catastrophe in Haiti. I won't go through all the details here but I would just like to remind everyone that there are people out there with less than you who need our help and no, I'm not talking about Washington State football.
Beaver great Yvenson Bernard is currently working to raise funds in relief of his native Haiti. These people are in a situation none of us can begin to imagine, so please, spare at the very least the cost of a six pack and not only help out a guy who did so much for OSU but a country that really needs it right now.
There is a need for cash donations, but Bernard is also seeking new and used clothing as well as new hygiene products. Here's some donation info:
Donation drop boxes (more to come):

- The Beavers host the Arizona schools this week, with the Wildcats kicking things off tonight at 7 PM (listen on KPAM because there's not TV--thanks PAC 10). There are some previews out there from The Oregonian, Fox Sports Arizona, Arizona Daily Wildcat,
- Coaching change shouldn't hurt the Wildcats.
- Daniel Deane is making strides towards consistency this season. It was great to see him busting his ass and going for 15 points and 8 boards on the ducks.

- On a football related note, this dude from the SF Gate knows what time it is: PAC 10 Football Looks to the North. Short read, not that great of a read, but good to know that California knows what's up.
- Ted Miller's final PAC 10 Power Rankings have us at No. 2, despite a horrible finish, behind UO.
- It's a family feud: Zalesky brother face off as the No. 22 Wrestling team gears up for Bakersfield.
- Some football news from the GT.
If you have more, post it below. Don't forget to help Yve out if you can and have a good day. GO BEAVERS!

Not related to Beaver athletics, but if you're looking for an easy way to help the people of Haiti...
http://twitter.com/RedCross/status/7720590281 ($10 to American Red Cross)
I just did this. You text “Haiti” to 90999 and a $10 donation will be automatically added to your cell phone bill. Your cell phone carrier will pass 100% of that $10 to the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.
OK, that’s my last plug.
Thanks for the resources
I was thinking about posting something but didn’t know about these excellent resources.
On the other question you going to any of the games this week ArbyOSU?
-RVM
No
I have tickets lined up for the end of the month UCLA one, went to Fresno State already so haven’t figured out if I can make another one this season. I’m thinking the UW game could be a fun one to go to.
-RVM
Got a ticket package that included Colorado (good game), ASU, UCLA, Civil War, Stanford and a few others.
Considering hitting up the PAC 10 tournament this year. Anyone ever been? I swear, that would be SUCH a better event if they would rotate host cities. Portland and Seattle would sell that out and pack the house for most games.
They could do really well moving it to the Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, Arizona (in spring?! you’d have that place packed full of pale oregonians!), and still keep it going in Southern California every now and then.
I’ve just always been disappointed in what the crowds look like on TV. Lots of fans dressed like seat-backs… not a lot of noise… this would change if it wasn’t in the same place year after year after year after year…
Portland loves basketball and would go nuts for this. I think Seattle would too. Put it in either of those cities and you’d get loads of Cougs, Dawgs, Beavs and ducks roadtripping, spending money, buying tickets, booking hotels, etc. Everyone wins (especially me because I live under 10 minutes from the Rose Garden!).
Yep, totally agree about Seattle and Portland. If anything I think the whole in SoCal deal all the time becomes a bit too repetitive for the market, so then hopefully making the circuit would make it more unique and exciting to the market down there when it does come around.

Never been to the Pac-10 Tourney.
But it sounds like a lot of fun. My ideas for the tourney are below.
2011-Key Arena
2012-Spokane Arena
2013-Rose Garden
2014-Arco Arena
2015-Staples Center
2016-US Airways Center
And then it could repeat. You could also hold it somewhere like Vegas or Honolulu.
Cal didn't have DJaxFIRST
CGB had some very good resources pulled together on how to help so I need to credit their efforts over there.
In rough times like these it’s easy to accidentally give money to crooks, but the sources listed there are reputable and offer amazing assistance to those in need.
Another write-up on Yve and updates on his family in Haiti.
Let’s show our support for Yve and his family. I know I said I wasn’t going to plug this again but it keeps getting worse and worse. Help if you can.

Good for Doggett!
Forgive my NFL ignorance, but what’s a “futures” contract? Being signed to the practice squad?
