Marcus Wheaton Cleared To Play

The NCAA Clearinghouse finally cleared Marcus Wheaton late Friday, who will play today against Portland State.

Word was also received from the NCAA that Peter Lalich's appeal to recover his sophomore season was denied, meaning Lalich will have (only) two years of eligibility left, as well as a redshirt year. Lalich, listed as the #3 QB today against the Vikings, probably won't play, unless he has to, as Oregon State will probably try to use his redshirt on this season, preserving his two remaining seasons.

The development will also heighten the urgency of getting Lyle Moevao, who will not play today, back in action, so that there will be three Beaver QBs available before using Lalich would become a requirement.
