Oregon State team co-captain junior defensive tackle Stephen Paea has been named to 2009 Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list. Th Nagurski awarded is presented to the premier defensive player in the nation by the Football Writers Association and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

Paea started 12 of 13 games last season, and was an honorable mention all-Pac-10 selection last season. He recorded 41 tackles, including 11 for a loss, and five quarterback sacks.
