Today's Poll, 11:30 Kickoff for the PSU Game
It was announced today that the Portland State game would kickoff at 11:35 AM and be televised on FSN NW HD. My prefrence for home games has always been a 1:30 or 3:30 kick, maybe an occasional 7:00 PM for National TV. But I'm not much of a morning guy for College Football.
It means you have to leave the house earlier to get some good tailgating in and you can't watch College GameDay. (Sorry GameDay haters, but it's my favorite show)
Bob De Carolis had this to say. "This is a great opportunity to not only showcase the
Only positives are that you can get home in time to watch Maryland @ California (7:00 PM, ESPN2) and LSU @ Washington (7:30 PM, ESPN)
So here's my question. Do you like the starting time? Vote in the poll below. After you vote make sure to defend your decision in the comments section and tell us your faviorite kickoff time.

I understand and agree
that whatever time is necessary for TV is the time to play.
But given a choice, I usually prefer the 3:30 start time. Even the 12:30 start (1:30 is a generally a thing of the past, and should be, because of the 4 TV game time slots) is very early, never mind 11:30, as it means Saturday morning is a scramble. Especially given Friday night is high school game night, it is always a late night, and it is nice to be able to sleep in, then catch Game Day over breakfast, and have plenty of time to get to the stadium by mid-day. And with a noonish start, the game is over by 4, and what are you going to do with the evening? With the 3:30 start, we get done just in time to have dinner with family, etc., and enjoy the evening.
7 o’clock+ would be nice for this game, and other early games, where it won’t get real cold by 11 when the game is over, and I hope the Halloween game is a night game, for obvious reasons. But not getting out until so late makes a victory dinner problematic, so I’m not a fan of a lot of night games. It does make sense in Arizona (should be mandatory) and the southeast, in order to beat the heat, but only occasionally in the northwest.

The Halloween game will be at either 12:30 or 3:30
I agree with most of your points, but that’s why the Pac-10 needs their own TV network. So we can play at whatever time we want. Also, whatever happened to BSN. We need to get some games back on our own network. The last one I remember on BSN was the Fresno State Basketball game a few years ago.

With USC@UO already scheduled for the evening slot,
I agree, an afternoon slot is much more likely. Let’s hope its 3:30.
I miss BSN as well, as it was better than nothing. It didn’t make a lot of money, but I’m of the opinion that anything that doesn’t loose money is a good thing in the long term.
The game will be “filmed”, regardless of whether it is broadcasted or not, so it may as well be shown, even if it is not on the same production quality as an ESPN game. It keeps the product in front of the customer. Over the long haul, that will pay off, even if the individual event isn’t a big money maker.
And that’s why I’ve been pushing for a Pac-10 network, official or otherwise, with or without the FSN label. There is no technical reason why every Pac-10 football game should not be broadcast, just political/economic ones.

Sorry I didn't make that more clear
I saw on the osubeavers.com schedule that it was at either 12:30 or 3:30.

As a Duck
its always good to get on tv but if your going to the game…. that kinda sucks.
The ducks seem to always have a bunch of 12 30 kickoffs and that always seems a hour or two early…… I feel your pain beaver fans but on the bright side your a hour or two closer to the season
I can’t make this game anyway, so I’m glad they put it on TV. The early start does suck, and if for some reason I actually can make it, I’ll be hating the early drive from Portland to Corvallis. Luckily it’s a short one.
Better than waiting until 7 PM to kickoff against PSU.
Even better than moving it to a Thursday or something like that.
