In retrospect,

maybe losing is an indication that a lot of fans have figured out that it wasn’t THAT big of an upset after all. We had done it a couple times before, and just a couple years ago.

But to lose to a soccer game?! Even if it was a world class upset, it was STILL SOCCER!

The other thing is that

the soccer game was very fresh on everybody’s mind. I swear it happened like the day before the nominees were announced. And I’m sure more people at least heard of the soccer game or knew the story as compared to OSU over USC. Just my take though.

Yes, but

Come on, as much as I love the Beavers, as much as that USC game was huge in my mind, it still does not really match the USA soccer team winning. As I seem to recall soccer is the most popular world-wide sport out there is it not? The biggest sport in the world that the United States has for years tried to match the powerhouses, and to finally make something of it is big.

I don’t think it really is that much indication that fans went one way or the other. I think it is more an indication that more sports fans that voted knew and cared more about a national team. Plus we did get nominated.

I do agree though that last year’s beating of USC wasn’t as BIG an upset as it was made out to be at times, I still think the previous beating of SC in Corvallis was way bigger as an upset. I also agree with Jake that timing was important to a point too. But still I’m a big-time OSU football fan and not much a soccer fan, but rationally I would have voted for USA soccer over the Beavers.

I bet we got second

I don’t think Mine That Bird and the Devil Rays would have gotten many votes.

Favorite Parts

I liked the Peyton Manning skit and the twitter updates. I though those were pretty funny.

I actually haven't watched the whole show yet

I just watched until the award OSU was nominated for then DVR’ed the rest. I’ll let you know when I check out out. I did see the twitter skit… pretty funny… especially the Chad Ocho Cinco part. Just some more free pub for OSU!
