Craig Robinson and USC? I hope not.
For those of you who haven't heard, Tim Floyd resigned from his position as head coach of USC's Men's Basketball team.
Floyd submitted a one paragraph letter of resignation to USC athletic director Mike Garrett, which read:
"As of 1 p.m. today, I am resigning as head basketball coach at the University of Souithern California. I deeply appreciate the opportunity afforded me by the university, as well as the chance to know and work with some of the finest young men in college athletics. Unfortunately, I know longer feel I can offer the level of enthusiasm to my duties that is deserved by the university, my coaching staff, my players, their families, and the supporters of Southern Cal. I always promised my self and my family that if I ever felt I could no longer give my full enthusiasm to a job, that I should leave it to others who could. I intend to contact my coaching staff and my players in coming days and weeks to tell them how much each of them means to me. I wish the best to USC and to my successor."
I can only imagine that USC will be the first of many, many schools with men's basketball head coaching vacancies to look at OSU head coach Craig Robinson.
It seems like there are a lot of reasons for Craig to stay. He has a great recruiting class coming in. He's working off the success he had last season. Possibility of taking OSU basketball to even greater heights this coming year... and who really wants to jump into the middle USC basketball mess?
What's your opinion, right now? I'm hoping to see this poll end up as a unanimous "no" vote, but I'm throwing it out to all of you just to check.
And as always, after you make your poll selection, feel free to yuck it up in the comment section.

There's always a chance he will go
But I agree with all of your points above. It’s going to be very tough to leave with that recruiting class coming in.

People always cite that OSU won’t be able to keep up with the salary race, and won’t be able to pay what other schools might offer Coach Rob. While this is true, I always think to myself that he isn’t in it for the money. If money was the most important factor for him, he would have remained a Wall St. investment banker, or whatever it was that he did before. He had all kinds of money then, and he gave it up. That’s not to say that he wouldn’t like to be making the big bucks being a coach. I don’t know. I guess it’s just a gut feeling for me.

Don’t be fooled—he’s a good guy, but money has quite a lot to do with this.
Right now, SC is a mess. That’s not the kind of job that I think he can be bought for. No way.
As for, say, an ACC or Big East job? If they come calling with bigger money we’ll need to put up a lot of cash. The combo of a “traditional” east coast basketball conference will have a lot of pull with him—he’d have fun doing it and they can all pay for his services if they want them.
Start feeding the family Ramen. We need to start a Save Coach Robinson fund.

He’s not going to be here forever, that’s for sure, but SC is NOT the school that drags him away.
Robinson has demonstrated he’s a man of substance and ethics, two characteristics that I don’t think ANYONE will be associating with the SC program over the next year or two.
SC is in trouble. Fixing a losing team is one thing. Fixing a cheating team is another. This thing only gets worse for SC and who their next coach is should be secondary to what types of sanctions and punishments will undoubtedly be dealt.
Somehow we’ll find the money to make this guy happy for at least two or three more years. After that, there’s a very good chance he’s back east at a bigger school where basketball is numero uno. Until then, I’ll enjoy the ride and appreciate all of the program building moves he is making.
All that said, if he DID go to SC it would take a lot more than a $1,000 handshake over dinner. It would take a complete reversal of the personality he has revealed to the public.

Canzano is an idiot
As a Ducks fan, I realize he’s a perfect fit to rebuild your program. I can’t think of why he would want to go to a place where they are virtually certain to be hit with some fairly severe sanctions among other things…

Totally agree
I know the point of most of his articles are to get people talking, but come on, this story and the story about us playing women’s basketball was just ridiculous. Sometimes I like his writing, but other times he just sounds like an idiot.

Not the right time
I expect it will take a great deal to keep Coach Craig around long-term, but I doubt seriously USC will offer enough for him to uproot at this point for a mess. Another turnaround at USC would further raise his stock, but so would 1-2 years of progress in Corvallis. And I suspect he senses, as I feel, that it will be easier to make progress in the next couple of years at OSU than it will be at USC.

Anyone walking into the SC situation is going to have tools. They’ll have good players, good recruits, facilities, solid budget and they’re in LA—all positives.
All of these positives add up to a reloading more than a rebuilding. SC fans want growth. They have little patience for “feel good” stories.
The more I think about it the less it worries me.
