Baseball Open Thread: vs. Washington, Game 1 [at Safeco]
After a frustrating midweek game coming off a huge series victory against Arizona State, it's finally time to get back to Pac-10 play today at Safeco Field against the Seattle Mariners Washington Huskies.
Tanner Robles goes to the mound for the Beavers, as Tyler Waldron has fallen out of the rotation for the time being. Look for Waldron in relief, but not necessarily in this game.
Jordan Merry is scheduled to start for the Huskies. The senior right-hander hasn't started in a little over a month, but the UW coaching staff decided they'd give the senior a shot in Safeco, since his replacement, Aaron West, had been struggling in the last few weeks.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Seattle.

Just got home from a baseball game...
But we don’t have Comcast. So no… radio.

Rhoderick looks like he'll close this one out...
The Beavers made things interesting in the eighth when the Beavers walked like five guys… but Rhoderick seems to be in control. One out, one on in the bottom of the ninth, with the Beavers leading 6-4.

Whew!
That was a little too close! Glad to see Robles do such a good job—and that it wasn’t for nothing! Go Beavs!
