Oregon Series Recap

The Beavers went 2-0 against the Ducks this week, improving to 32-16 on the season. The Oregon Ducks dropped to 14-39 on the game. The Beavers pitched well on Tuesday and batted well on Wednesday so it was a pretty good series. The Beavers will most likely now have to win the Stanford series to clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Now let's take a look at Game 1.

In the first game of the series the Beavers won, 2-0. The Beavers got things started in the second inning with a run to take the lead, 1-0. The Beavers added to their lead in the fifth inning with another run to make the score, 2-0. The Beavers held the Ducks scoreless for the final four innings to propel the Beavers to victory. Our pitching staff pitched great with Tyler Waldron starting, Kraig Sitton relieving, and Kevin Rhoderick closing it up. The Ducks pitcher, Alex Keudell, pitched a eight inning complete game. With the win came Pat Casey's 500th win at Oregon State, and there was a celebration on the field after the game.

The time of game was 2 hours and 10 minutes and the attendance was 2,565. Now let's take a look at Game 2.

In the last game of the series the Beavers won, 14-4. The Ducks started things off in the second inning with a run to take a 1-0 lead. The Beavers tied the game up in the third inning with a run to make the score, 1-1. In the fourth inning, Oregon State got five runs to take the lead, 6-1. The Ducks scored another run in the bottom half of the fourth to make the score, 6-2. In the sixth inning the Beavers broke the game wide open with eight runs to make the score, 14-2. The Ducks added two more runs in the seventh inning to make the final score, 14-4.

The time of game was 3 hours and 10 minutes and the attendance was 5,175.

Next up for the Beavers is a three game series with Stanford. The games on Friday and Saturday are at 6:00 PM and the game on Sunday is at 12:00 PM. Stanford is 29-23 on the season.

The weather for Friday and Saturday is supposed to be Sunny and the weather for Sunday says Mostly Sunny. It should be a great weekend for baseball on the farm.

                                                                                            Go Beavs!
