Washington State Series Preview

Following a mid-week win against Gonzaga, the Beavers host Washington State for a three game series this weekend. Washington State enters the weekend at 26-21 and 14-7 in Pac-10 play. Washington State is arguably the hottest team in the conference right now, and is coming of a series split against Portland.

The Cougars started out the year very shaky, going 3-8 in their first 11 games. They entered Pac-10 play with a record of 8-11 and then they took series from Cal and UCLA to start out conference play. The Cougs have earned Pac-10 series sweeps over Arizona and Oregon and have won every Pac-10 series except for Arizona State and Stanford. The Cougars have seven games left this season. After their three game series with the Beavers, they play a mid-week game against Gonzaga and then finsh up with a three game series against rival Washington. In Rivals.com postseason predictions, they have Washington State going to Austin, Texas as a three seed.

The Cougars will be throwing Matt Way on Friday, Chad Arnorld on Saturday, and David Stilley on Sunday. Matt is a left hander who has a record of 7-4 and a 2.16 ERA. Chad Arnold is a right hander who is 6-2 on the season and has an ERA of 4.82. David Stilley is a left hander who is 3-1 on the season and has an ERA of 3.09. The Beavers will be throwing Tanner Robles on Friday, Greg Peavey on Saturday, and Jorge Reyes on Sunday. Tanner is a left hander who is 1-1 on the season and has an ERA of 3.42. Peavey is a right hander who is 3-3 on the season and has an ERA of 5.30. Jorge is a right hander who is 5-2 on the season and has an ERA of 3.80.

The game times this weekend are 5:00 on Friday, 2:00 on Saturday, and 1:00 PM on Sunday.

The weather for this weekend calls for Sun on Friday and Partly Cloudy on Saturday and Sunday.
