Batter Up! ...and pass the hat!
Gotta love those Daily Doubles... baseball game is on now, basketball still to come tonight!
In baseball, the Beavers dug themselves an early hole. Greg Peavy walked the first batter of the game, then hit the second. The third man had an RBI, and before long, it was 3-0 San Francisco, with no outs. Not to worry, though. A couple innings later, the Beavs hung 4 runs on the Dons, and seem to have settled down now. Peavy seems to be in control.
Sounds like Beaver Nation is well represented down there in Palm Springs. Good job, people! Tomorrow should be interesting, when we play Oklahoma State. Two OSUs, both orange and black. The crowd should look really big, because you won't be able to tell whose fans are whose!
The Beaver Sports Network ought to get some new remote broadcast gear. They have lost contact multiple times today, and sometimes Ron Callan sounds like he's underwater. They seem to have these problems often. I remember being annoyed by it last season. Maybe we should take up a collection? :)
Remember to visualize lots of jump hooks by Big Roe and jumpers by Calvin Haynes tonight - game starts at 7:30pm. FSN will have the game on tape delay, beginning at 10pm, I think.

Doh!
Guess I jinxed the Beavs… after 4 1/2, it’s 5-4 USF.
Unless USF wins that argument...
I think they were lobbying for runner interference. Sounds like an error on the 3B, though.
Sac fly by Wong...
Wallace scores from 3rd. 8-6 Beavs!
How do they score that last run?
Stolen base? Tomassini got caught in a rundown after he was leaning off 1st, but stayed in it long enough for Norris to score from 3rd.
Yep, that was weird
Guess it was considered crossed the plate before he was tagged out.
A bit better offense today. Peavey had a couple rough innings, nothing horrible but gave up all 7 hits and 4 earned runs.

C'mon Grby!
Hit the first batter, walked the next.
Good Win
Overall, I was pretty impressed with today’s game. We made it tough at times but in the end got the win. I think we are good at damage control when we get in jams. I thought we also did better with not leaving many runners on base. It will be interesting to see how we do in this tournament.
