Going into the Cal series: A quick take on the OSU season to date

In 2008 OSU was going into the Cal series 14 and 8 with losses to: Vanderbilt (1-8), ASU (this time losing 0-11), Georgia (4-6), Loyola Marymount (3-13), San Diego (5-10), Nevada (1-10), Pepperdine (5-8), and UW (4-6).  We then lost the series to Cal.

This year we are sitting at 15-6 with losses to Tennessee (4-5 lost in last inning), ASU (3-6), Oklahoma St (5-7), Missouri St (3-5), Missouri St (2-4), and Oregon (2-3 lost in extra innings).

Going into the Cal series for 2009 I'm seeing a MUCH better team.  I think the Missouri State series has been the hardest to take so far, but that was a weird one with the delays and carry over into the next day and OSU still was in those games.  So unlike last year where we saw some pretty big weaknesses that I think led to the poor showing at the end of the season, this year we have been in every single game even the ones we lost.

This weekend will prove to be interesting and I'm feeling good about things so far.
