Obama give his prediction for the Beavs next year

From this article:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/ncaatourney09/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=3991859

The quote:

Craig Robinson, Obama's brother-in-law, is the coach at Oregon State and led the Beavers to seven Pac-10 wins in his first season, after OSU went winless in the league a year ago. Obama picked against five of the six Pac-10 schools in the first round, selecting 4-seed Washington (over 13-seed Mississippi State) as the one league team to advance.

"I want him to have an incentive, knowing that I think the rest of the Pac-10 can be taken next year," Obama said of Robinson's team, which earned a berth in the College Basketball Invitational with a 13-17 record. "I think the Beavers are on their way."

Infrastructure Money for Gill

Mr. Obama – Oregon State needs a new practice facility for its basketball team and some cosmetic improvements to Gill. This is important infrastructure for the state of Oregon. Could you send us some of the trillions you are spending on infrastructure?

Robinson is recruiting a great crew:

Have you guys looked at Rivals.com recruiting or the Top-150 for 2009?

So far, the Oregon State Beavers have commit’s from 4 of the Top-150 players….
http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?SID=910&Year=2009&ra_key=1642

  1. Jared Cunningham PG 6’3"/170 San Leandro CA
  2. Roberto Nelson SG 6’4"/190 Santa Barbara CA
  3. Joe Burton C 6’7"/260 Hemet CA
  4. Angus Brandt C 6’10"/210 Lake Forest IL

From the Beavers team page, it looks like they have one other recruit who is 3-star that is committd as well:

Rhys Murphy SF 6’7"/185 Lee ME

Granted high school recruiting rankings like this are not FACT, but opinion… however I think it is important for Beaver Nation to respect the immediate influx of talent that one season of Coach Robinson is brining to Corvallis. From this, it is pretty easy to understand why his brother-in-law President Obama KNOWS that Oregon State is on the rise….
