Reconnections, the Photos (RVM's photos from the Civil War Win)
As promised here are some images I got from the Civil War. Nothing all that great, I actually was going to take more but got wrapped up in the game, but thought they might help get people in the mood for tonight's game (UA and hopefully ASU too). Go Beavs!
Enjoy!
Pregame, got there with about five minutes to tip-off so didn't get much here:
Much, much more after the break.
Here is the tip-off series that led to the neat first score (didn't get the basket, I was cheering):
Setting up the offense:
Schaftenaar shoots!
And the final score!

Thanks
Yes, I also really like the look of film, but have to admit that I also like having the flexibility of a multi-Gig memory card and digital camera where I can just snap away with abandon. But I guess the flip side is I choose my shots a bit more when shooting with film. Went with the film camera since we were far enough up and it had the better lens for the distance.

Those are pretty good shots from distance

well
I would have taken better shots if I only could’ve got better seats!!! :) Can’t complain I put off getting tickets late and again it was nice to have it that full.
How was the crowd and atmosphere last night for the UA game (did you go?)?

The announced attendance was 6,500
Not full. It was disappointing to see, especially given the near capacity crow on Saturday… but here’s what I keep reminding myself of
When was the last time we had 6,500 people in Gill (before the Oregon game).
It was a Thursday game, at 5:30… 30 minutes after the work day gets out— we are still not high priority and it isn’t easy for a lot of people from Portland to just get off work to come to a basketball game
I’m still disappointed in the BeaverDam… maybe I just need to nut up the $15 and get down there myself. But they are AWFULLY quiet. There is the group in the center of the Dam that is loud, but everyone on the sides do nothing, until there’s something to cheer about. For a team that feeds off the crowd as much as ours does, we need the Dam to be loud ALL THE TIME

Yes, that was a tough scheduling time. I take it was for being able to broadcast it live, but I got home basically for the TV tip-off and Thursdays are hard enough for traveling fans (as many have commented in regards to the football).
Looked okay on TV, one could see empty seats and could tell the upper levels and corners were empty, but at the same time did seem to have some noise going especially on that late 2nd half run. Hoping it is a good showing for Saturday’s game for that’s going to be a tough one. And I see your points about the BeaverDam, but again just not sure people are quite there yet even the student body who really should be for as you noted this team feeds off the crowd.
