Beavers 12 - Tigers 8 and Romero comes through again

I got to "watch" this game off and on today at work.  Again offense looked very good and I was especially impressed by the Beavers' five runs in the sixth inning after the Tigers just went up by a run with a big sixth inning of their own.  It was a very nice response.  Romero is still hitting very well and had two doubles and four RBIs including a two RBI double in that all important sixth inning.  But he wasn't the only one (check out the box score and play-by-play here)!

Defense and pitching looked to be a little bit here and there today.  There were some nice flashes from the pitching crew today:  Robles, Gaviglio (win), Nygren, Sitton, and Rhoderick (save) with all of them getting a good amount of SOs (12 total), but the Beavs also did give up eight runs and had two errors. I think this should settle down and will be interesting to see when we face a really good defensive team (like tomorrow with ASU) how well our defense can hold its own.

Here is the OSU site write up:  Oregon State Baseball Holds Off Missouri (though I don't think Missouri is ranked 15th right now if that is what that means, for I think the Tigers were 1 and 5 coming in to this game).

If anyone listened to the game please chime in with your impressions!

And if you want a really good distraction before the big basketball game on Sunday, the baseball team is playing Arizona State tomorrow evening scheduled to start at 5:30 PST.  ASU is undefeated so far this season (6-0).  Should be a good one!

Nice write-up... Never hurts to double-team

That’s what I get for hiding in my shell to write about the NIU and Mizzou games.

Let’s sweep the DeMarini!

Actually!

I kind-of thought I was posting a fanpost but forgot about my status change and didn’t really pay attention that it was a “story.”

Sorry!

So more of that’s what you get for giving me author status!
