Mike Parker Named "Twenty-Oh-Eight" Oregon Broadcaster of the Year

For the fifth time of his broadcasting career, "voice of the Beavers" Mike Parker has been named the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Oregon Broadcaster of the Year.
It's safe to say that Parker, who graduated from the University of Oregon, has been converted to Orange and Black.
He has announced to "Beaver Nation" two baseball national championships, eight bowl games and served as the master of ceremonies at numerous events. He also currently serves as the play-by-play voice of the Corvallis Knights of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League. And now, Parker is covering the resurgence of Oregon State's Men's Basketball team.
Keep up the great work, Mike!

God the only black mark is that he is a UO grad
I’m just saying that I hope no matter what job I end up in, I am always still a Beaver
I support Takimoto in his effort to support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.
It's hard to tell if he's converted
I mean, it seems like he is, but the dude was an avid Duck several years ago.
But hey, that’s where the journalism and broadcasting is.

this piece actually makes the rivalry more fun for me. There are people on both sides that have essentially “crossed over” to roles with the other school. Mike Parker is a great example but another one is Don Essig. He does all of the announcements for the Ducks during basketball, football and now baseball. For those that have been in Autzen or Mac Court, he is the one you hear over the PA giving updates, commercials etc. He is an Oregon State graduate
