The Beavers have already crossed Southern Oregon off their list of exhibition opponents, and only one remains: another member of the Oregon University System: Western Oregon.
The Beavers handled the Raiders 94-53 last Sunday night to kickoff the season. Four Oregon State players scored in double figures while the defense forced 22 Raider turnovers in 41-point win.Oregon State shot 56.5 percent from the floor (35-of-62) while holding Southern Oregon to just 37.5 percent (18-of-48) from the field.
Western Oregon opened up its season on Wednesday against Portland State as the Vikings defeated the Wolves, 108-65. Rico Myles and Gabe Thrash led the way for Western Oregon in the loss. Myles poured in 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and four assists in 22 minutes of play. Thrash added 10 points off the bench as he went 5-of-8 from the field.
Western Oregon, a NCAA Division II institution and member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, returns two starters and seven letter-winners from a squad that finished the 2008-09 season with a mark of 10-17.
Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Gill Coliseum.

difference from last season
lots of fast break and they play in a faster pace..
I don’t know if that would be for the rest of the season… or just because it is an exhibition game
you're right, it is hard to tell
The improvement on defense helps the Beavers get out into transition. We saw it last year, with Seth Tarver especially… hard to tell if the Beavers will be able to get up and down against Pac-10 opponents. one thing is for sure: this team is a lot deeper than last year’s, and the freshman guys will only improve as they learn the system.

Not a great game
But not that horrible either. Looked pretty sloppy in the final 20-25 minutes, but that’s alright.
I say we just take the positives and move on. We’ve got three big games next weekend that would be nice to win.
