Mike Hass Signed to Seattle's Active Roster

Exciting news out of the Emerald City today, as Mike Hass has been signed to the Seahawks Active Roster. He spent the early part of this season on the practice squad, as he has over the past couple of years in Chicago. He did make Chicago's active roster for part of 2007. Here's SBN's Seahawk blog, Field Gulls, on the situation:

Mike Hass is back, entering the gangsta rap phase of his professional career. He wants to taste your nectar, he does.

Err... well said. For more on Hass and the roster moves, check out Field Gulls or the Seahawks' release.

Nice Hass!

Cool to have two former Beavs on the active roster for the closest NFL team to us.

Is Joe Newton still employed there, in some capacity? Last I heard, he was on the practice squad. Not as glamorous as gettin’ in the game, but heck, you’re still getting a paycheck from an NFL team!

No Go Joe

Joe Newton was on the Seahawks practice squad in 07 and 08 but did not make the team this year. To my knowledge he has not been picked up by another team.

Really?

I thought he was on their practice squad.

Hi, my name is Connor. Except over on ATQ where I am known as, "JConnor."

Joe was cut, and is a free agent

A little surprised he didn’t go to the UFL, but probably hoping for a call when someone loses someone for the season.

One week later, Hass is cut again,

after not dressing for the Lions game. He can rejoin the practice squad, which has an open position.

Hass cleared waivers,

and was officially added back to the Seahawks’ practice roster. He’s listed as their #6 wide receiver.
