Devon Collier Comes To Corvallis from the Bronx

Devon Collier, a 6'8", 215 pound forward from Bronx, New York, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Oregon St. men's basketball program, head coach Craig Robinson announced on Tuesday. Collier joins point guard Ahmad Starks from Chicago, Ill., who signed with the Beavers last Wednesday.

Robinson's assessment of Collier:

Devon (Collier) is an athletic big man who can play inside and outside and has tremendous potential. It's terrific to have a guy of his caliber come across the country to attend Oregon State. We're excited to have him and think he can do some great things here.

Collier comes to Oregon St. from St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City, N.J., and is a consensus top 150 prospect. The power forward is rated No. 79 overall by ESPN.com, No. 134 by Rivals.com, and is a four star recruit ranked in the top 100 by Scout.com. Collier helped lead St. Anthony to the NJSIAA sectional semi-finals as a junior, his first year at the school. As a sophomore at All Hallows High School in the Bronx, Collier averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.
