The Oregon State men's basketball team received the first of what it hopes will be two National Letters of Intent on the first day of the early signing period Wednesday.
Point guard Ahmad Starks, a 5'8" point guard from Whitney Young high school in Chicago, Ill., signed with the Beavers, who will have four seniors graduating this year.
Rivals rates Starks as the No. 132 recruit overall, and No. 30 at Point Guard.
ESPN.com has Starks as the No. 35 Point Guard, while Scout.com has him as the No. 25 Point Guard.
There is an embedded You-tube video of Starks on the OSU Hoops site now as well.
Craig Robinson's assessment:
Ahmad is a tremendous player, who has been a winner throughout his high school career. He's a guard who is a natural scorer and can get other players involved as well. He brings a lot of energy to the game and will help the program continue to move in the right direction.
