Tuesday Links (UPDATED)

I feel deeply sorry for anyone who doesn't have tomorrow off. My cold symptoms have subsided and now it's time for some weekend style going out on Tuesday night. I plan on having fun. And being out late. It's going to be fantastic. Now if five o'clock can just hurry up and come, I can get down to brass tacks-and by brass tacks, I mean beers.

  • Congrats to a sport that gets very little love on BtD (or anywhere outside of University of Portland fan pages)- Women's soccer secured an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament. They'll head to Columbus, Ohio to play "The" Ohio State University (not to be confused with "That" Ohio State University or "A" Ohio State University, which is actually a barber college).

Star-divide

  • On the subject of women's collegiate soccer, I hope you've seen the University of New Mexico player that went beserk on some BYU girls. If not, you gotta check it out.
  • New Mexico Lobos soccer player Elizabeth Lambert plays rough with BYU Going Viral ESPN (via Aalnius)

    • Pete Carroll, Mike Bellotti and Jeff Tedford are out, Mike Riley, Chip Kelly and Jim Harbaugh are in. Bleacher Report discusses a possible "changing of the guard" in PAC 10 coaching.
    • An interesting report from USA Today on clauses in assistant coach contracts. Banker seems to have a pretty sweet deal.
    • Want to see some highlights from Saturday's game OTHER than the horrible Best play? Found this on YouTube and let me reiterate--Joe Halahuni is such an exciting receiver in the open field.

Sports Highlight: California Golden Bears vs Oregon State Beavers (via caltvinfo)

    • Some Buker notes and some random stuff from Ken Goe on the PAC 10. Let's just hope he's not trying to be funny. His worst jokes are when he jokes about how he's not funny. Consequently, those jokes are the least funny.
    • Oh, and as a side note, OSU's Sammie Stroughter scored the winning touchdown for Tampa Bay this weekend, helping TB to it's first win. Just so happens it was a win over Cal's Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay. You can see Sammie's catch toward the end of the clip. Bad week to be a Golden Bear?

    Wowsers...

Even watching without sound (to hear what the commentator was saying), that soccer chick looks crazy vicious!!!

It was the pony-tail yank that got me.

The night I saw this on Sports Center I was shocked. I mean, I had NO idea that women’s soccer was so cool!

    Saw this on ATQ

OMG! She is so hot. Can I have her number?

On their first date they would just sucker punch random people at the restaurant they were at… it’d be so fun to watch. I’d love to have surveillance tape from that particular Sizzler…

And then the restaraunt would ban them for life

Only to let them come back a few weeks later

    YouTube would crash

From so many hits. (No pun intended, actually, there was a little pun intended.)

Daschel writes on OSU’s Rose Bowl chances… seriously.

    Quote from article:

Just about everyone during the past 10 days, including myself, has written Oregon’s name in the Pac-10 portion of the Rose Bowl bracket. It wouldn’t be that far-fetched if we have to add "State" to that in four weeks.

I like how he thinks, but there’s a lot of football left.

    James, James, James...

Wearing a purple hairband during Huskies week? FAIL! :)

    Incidentally...

Did anyone notice Sean’s eyeblack strips during the Cal game? I thought that was a good show of friendship.

    Yeah

That was very cool. I don’t think any other QB would do that. You know, except Tim Tebow, cause he’s like God and everything.

They said "LM" and "#3" right?

I saw “LM” on Kristick’s arm (sharpie) as well.

Think he's had that the last two games actually?

Pretty sure he had that on his strips for the UCLA game too.

    Dunno...

Was at that game, so didn’t get to see closeups on TV.

He was part of the project too. Pretty classy, must say. James apparently had the idea after talking with his uncle.
