Giovanni Bernard Going To Notre Dame

Giovanni Bernard,  former Beaver running back Yvenson Bernard's younger brother, has announced to Rivals.com that he has decided to attend Notre Dame.

It's just a great program all around, and it has everything I am looking for in a school. I visited there for the USC game. They work like our coaches at St. Thomas. It should be an easy transition for me.

Giovanni, who visited Reser Stadium on Sept. 19 for the Cincinnati game, selected Notre Dame over Alabama, Florida State, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Oklahoma State, as well as OSU.

In choosing the Irish, Giovanni apparently doesn't subscribe to the theory that history predicts the future (Oregon St. defeated Notre Dame 41-9 in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl, and 38-21 in the 2004 Insight Bowl), or at least hopes the future doesn't take Notre Dame to Phoenix when Oregon St. is there.
