Sammy Scores First NFL TD
Former Oregon St. wide receiver Sammie Stroughter scored his first NFL touchdown Sunday. Stroughter returned a third quarter kickoff 96 yards for the touchdown for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their 28-21 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Ironically, the kickoff came after former Oregon running back Jonathan Stewart had scored for the Panthers.
The NFL Gamecenter has the highlight video.
The return capped an effort that resulted in Stroughter being named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the weekend of Oct. 19.
Stroughter co-lead the Buccaneers in receptions with three, and led the Tampa in receiving yards, with 65.
Sammie Stroughter eludes Carolina defenders to make a 96 yard kickoff return for a touchdown Sunday.

Al Afalava, who starts at Safety for the Chicago Bears,
got a lot of camera time on NBC’s Sunday Night Football last night as well, including recognition for a big pass breakup against veteran Atlanta Falcon TE Tony Gonzalez. The Falcons defeated the Bears 21-14.
Recent Oregon St. alums are making significant impacts.

Only the third Kickoff Return TD in Bucs History
Here is the link. Why didn’t we have him and James returning kickoffs?

Wow
I’m retarded. The link is already in the post above. The funny thing is I watched that one too, and then went to youtube. Anyways, I love how the first person to greet him on the sideline is Sabby.

I loved seeing Sabby too, Tampa should be thanking us.
If not for Sabby’s sometime frustrating play, then for Sammie.

I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned yet. but....
Sammie had at least 303 all purpose yards last Sunday! Three receptions for 65 yards, three punt returns for 142 yards, and the 96 yard kickoff return. Did he have any other kickoff return yards other than his long one?
