Tuesday Notes

Just a few things to pass along today...

David Sturner, the freshman walk-on, is out indefinitely with mono (we're talking basketball here, in case you're lost). In Cliff Kirkpatrick's blog, Coach Robinson had the following to say:

"We are so thin that this is not good," Robinson said. "It's more noticeable in practice. We can't go as hard because you can't give guys enough breaks. So we'll see how long it goes. You never know with mono."

Sturner had been seeing trace minutes in games, but like Coach Rob said above, the loss is more hard-felt in practice.

Also from Cliff, Astoria's former standout QB Jordan Poyer has committed to play for Coach Riley at Oregon State. His team won the Oregon 4A State Championship this year. He dominated at his level, but it will be interesting to see how his game translates to the college level. He is expected to play DB.

Also, the Beavers finished the football season ranked #18 in the AP Poll, and #19 in the USA Today poll.

That's it. Enjoy the rest of your day!

#18 & #19 - I'll take that...

Congrats to the Ducks on their Top Ten finishes [polite golf applause]

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Nice Job Jake

Hey Jake, I got your message on my blog the other day, but have been so busy that I didn’t reply. Sorry about that. Anyhow, I just got around to checking out your blog the other day, looks pretty good. I think we can both benefit by teaming up to suppliment our blogs with PAC-10 and team specific information.

Let me know if you’re still interested.
