I know the guys from PSU come over to BtD and are pretty cool, but for all the talking they do about how classless Pitt fans are I was really suprised to see this in their gameday thread:
Play Dirty
I’m ready for someone to tackle Sanchez by his facemask.
Forgive me, I’m a Philly guy. If you can’t win, fuck up the opposition.

I guess it isn’t so surprising since we all have “fans” like this who come out of the woodwork. If they are more of the regulars (most of those who visited us during the Sun Bowl thread) then yes I would also be surprised. I didn’t go to the game thread you linked to and if these type of posts were consistent throughout I would also be surprised.
Kind-of like you said about the post in that earlier thread the shit-talking nonsense seems to always to be there, and unfortunately can come from any fan base.

And they shut it down so I couldn’t reply. They made a 2 day wait period.

Yeah, the PSU one. The guy, BSD, said that he made a 2 day wait period to fend off the trolls.

Interesting.
Were there a lot of posts like the ones you sampled going on?

Here’s a link to where he said it.
I’m not sure how much there was. I got a little frustrated that I couldn’t post so I left. I saw VD in there for a bit. He has to tell a guy to tone it down here because he says he wants Musberger to die.

I know right. I was pretty amazed. My only real insight into PSU was through the guys that were on BtD. I mean, they seem cool and all, but their whole thing was that Pitt fans were DB’s because they did stuff like that.

Yep, but we do have to remember that when we played PSU there was a mini-flame war going on in the threads about how classless OSU fans were versus how classless PSU fans were on the threads. It wasn’t totally out of control but got a bit ugly at times. I enjoyed the blogging company of many of the PSU fans over the year, very supportive, but not totally surprised I guess. Like I said above every fan base brings out the best and worse. (Oh, and thanks for being in the former!)

hahahaha…that was just good-natured! I was rooting for the Beavs!
Now that you mention it, I think I remember their fans coming back to rub it in CV’s face some after the game because he called it HoHum State or something. Although I think you guys had that more than once. :-)

Dang USC really came to play in this one
SC is just too strong and fast. When they are really motivated to beat you, they beat you

True that.
And we are the only team who beat the Rose Bowl champs!

I have to ask
How did OSU stop their offense? Not trying to be a d-bag, just curious.

got pressure on the QB
Sanchez never had his feet planted when he was throwing, and they couldn’t get anything going on the run… our defense is undersized but much quicker then PSU’s
I support Takimoto in his effort to support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.

just to clarify, our DEnds might play linebacker at PSU, or our OLBs might play safety

I think that OSU's coaching past experiences played a part too
in that OSU has experience against Carroll and his crew every year, and it was a new thing for the PSU staff.
