We absolutely dominated Stanford

Nearly 500 yards to their 300.

But if there’s one stat that best correlates win and loses, its turnovers

And we had 3 to Stanford’s 0.

This is no way to start the season.

ugh

…at least both of you had the “luxury” of watching at home [I was there and it felt like we “dominated” them even more in person and I still don’t think L.Mo was the same after that cheap shot]!!!

GO BEAVS!!!

What happened to our heralded secondary?

no interceptions! multiple pass interference calls?!? (that one in the endzone was bogus though)

Woof

Stanford only threw for 90 yards.

They did their part …against the pass, at least.

Well, Standford did only attempt 17 passes. Pritchard was 10 for 17 attempts and 91 yards—9.1 yards per completion.

Less of what the Beavs secondary did, in my opinon, and more of what the Cardinal game plan was.

I think Stanford was just content rushing the ball for 200+ yards and running down the clock. They probably thought the less the Beavs had the ball the less they had time to get in sync and make plays.

And they’re correct. Hell, the Beavs “dam” near pulled it off (at least to possibly tie).

Effective rushing attack, not allowing the Beavs to win the time of possession battle, and not committing turnovers is what won that game for Stanford.

yards per completion is one of the most meaningless football statistics...

……..Sorry, HUGE pet peeve of mine.

9.1 yards looks great, but…it was only 5.3 per attempt, which is truly Canfieldesque (Roperesque?). 7 or 8 is great, below that it starts to be less good.

Those 4 turnovers put 9 of their points on the board and gave Stanford a stop when it looked like OSU was going to take them to overtime. Other than giving away the ball, the Beavers weren’t being slowed down or stopped by Stanford—about 500 yards, punted only 3 times.

It was really disappointing that 40% of their rushing yards were on 2 plays. That was (lawyers) frustrating, but it’s pretty obvious that the pieces are there to rally to the ball—that’s all you can ask for.

Totally agree

I really liked the way Moevao played. The WR’s too. Wish they did more with the running game.

I think the D can come together. C’mon… this is a Riley team!
