QuickPoll: CWS Champion

I've been thinking about this a lot the last few days... I've decided to ask your opinion.

As much as I want Fresno State to come from behind and win the series, I wouldn't be upset if Georgia won the championship. After all, we did beat Georgia in a series this year. And a pre-season matchup between Georgia and the Beavers, a matchup of National Champions, has a nice ring to it.

However, it would be good to keep the trophy on the West Coast.

But those are just my thoughts.

Not sure

I like your points and agree with all of them. So that is my way of saying I don’t know. Think I’ll just fall back on the hope that it is an exciting and close three game series.

I was just thinking...

...that we don’t really have any connection to Fresno State, except the fact that they’re on the West Coast. Georgia, on the other hand, we’ve played and beaten. But yeah, that’s though to weigh.

West Coast all the way!

I agree with your points also, but Fresno is just playing their heart out-and are at such a disadvantage being on their 4th game in as many days! (They just came from a 5-0 deficit to take the lead at 8-6 … but a lot can happen in the remaining 5 innings!)

I'm watching sporatically on ESPN360.com

Looks like a great game. My main point was that although I want Fresno to win, Georgia wouldn’t be a bad option. Fresno is doing it the same way we did it in ‘06 though, so you have to like that.

Question about Tuesday's Game

I caught the last few innings of the game (starting with 6 I think) and noticed not much of a crowd in the outfield seats. Wondering if anyone noticed this? Also wondering if it was just because there is a large Georgia group there this year and since it was a blow out for much of the later half of the game they just left early? Seems a bit strange because Georgia did close the gap a bit there at 15 to 10 and Frenso State pitching looked to be getting a bit wild. I seem to remember large OSU/UNC crowds for the 2007 series and just curious for this seems to be a pretty entertaining and back and forth series this year.

And an FYI: Rhoderick selected to USA team

RVM:

Saw the thing on Rhoderick yesterday. Haven’t had time to post it. Too bad Ortiz didn’t get selected too.

I’ve been noticing the low attendance in Omaha all CWS. It’s gotta be high gas prices, high airline prices, etc. It’s spendy to get to Omaha anyway, without the high prices.

Thanks and saw your posting of the news

Yes about Ortiz, but that was pretty neat about Rhoderick.

For the attendance I actually didn’t think about that, but makes a lot of sense (the cost of travel). I noticed it again last night for the final game (congrats to Fresno State! but I’m still not a fan of your football program), and all-in-all didn’t feel too much like it took away from the energy but still with all the talk recently about moving it from that venue it struck me as interesting.
