Pac 10 Preview and Oregon State's Ranking
In The Rivalry's Pac 10 preview, the Beavers are rated 8th in the conference. This prediction praises Mike Riley for his winning seasons, but worries that the Beavers lost so many starters (Alex Cerna, Yancy) from 2007 that they will struggle to rebound. The key matchup for the Beavers in 2008 is listed as UCLA, but key games at Hawaii and Penn State will challenge the Beavers also. Check the Pac 10 preview at:

I disagree
I think they are selling the beavers short. He does not mention the fact that we will still have an extremely strong secondary and our running game has not suffered despite the lost of Bernard. While the entire front seven are gone, their replacements actually have significant experience, including our two 3rd down pass rushers who combined for almost 20 sacks last season. The fact that we have Stroughter and Rogers back means we will continue to have an explosive receiving corps as well. The only question here is QB, but Moevao and Canfield were serviceable last season and should only continue to improve. I think we go 6-6 or 7-5 and wind up with a conference record in the top half of the Pac-10 at either 5-4 or 6-3.
