Golf Facilities improving

From the Barometer:

The Oregon State Athletic Department announced that because of a recent donation from Don and Rose Archer, in memory of their son Dennis Lee Archer, the Beavers golf team will begin construction this summer on a facility that will include a 6,000-square-foot putting green and chipping area located behind Goss Stadium.

The Beavers received the donation from the Archers in honor of their son who graduated from Oregon State in 1969.

"One of the things we struggle with day in and day out is trying to find ways to improve our facilities," men's golf head coach Brian Watts told osubeavers.com. "With this very generous donation, our student-athletes will now have the opportunity to have an easily accessible putting surface to practice on every day.

"For the Archers to step up to the plate and help out the golf programs speaks volumes about their dedication to Oregon State. It's a very important gift for the Oregon State golf programs."
